What kind of art activities can toddlers do?
The toddler years are exciting time as our children get their hands on things! Everything is new and exciting and our toddlers have a growing sense of themselves.
Their (developmentally age-appropriate) lack of fine motor skills and fledgling language can lead to frustration and tantrums. Try to head this off by choosing activities that are accessible to toddlers’ skill levels and support their desire to be independent and do as much as possible by themselves.
We can do the important task of establishing the tone and atmosphere of creativity with our two and three year olds. Show them art is fun and creative, and allow them enjoy the process of making art without worrying overly about the finished product. The adventure is in the doing!
