Use this free car alphabet printable to turn your literacy centers transport-themed!
How to use this printable
Print the car alphabet (see below) and cut out the individual vehicle letter cards.
Print on thick card so there is no need to laminate – less plastic!
Car letter activities
There are many ways you can use this versatile transport printable in your lessons.
:: Use them to make the alphabet. Set up an alphabetical order traffic jam!
:: Use the letter letters to play matching games. Print two sets and see if you can match up the pairs of letters.
:: Place two sets of the vehicle letters face down and use them to play Memory.
:: Sort the vehicles into ones transporting curved letters and ones transporting straight letters. This helps children discriminate letter shapes to aid their reading and writing.
:: Hide the cars and trucks around the house or garden and see if your children can drive around and find them all. Who’s found which letter? Can they think of a word that starts with their letter?
:: Hide the car letters in a sensory tub and use them in imaginary play. Adding letter cards in with your pretend play makes for a print-rich environment which supports children to recognise, be confident with, and read letters.
