Pumpkin letter activities
There are many ways you can use this versatile pumpkin alphabet printable in your lessons.
:: Use them to make the alphabet. Set up an alphabetical order line of Jack o’lanterns.
:: Use the pumpkin letters to play matching games. Print two sets and see if you can match up the pairs of letters.
:: Place two sets of the pumpkin letters face down and use them to play Memory.
:: Sort the pumpkin into ones with curved letters and ones with straight letters. This helps children discriminate letter shapes to aid their reading and writing.
:: Hide the pumpkins around the house or garden and see if your children can drive around and find them all. Who’s found which letter? Can they think of a word that starts with their letter?
:: Hide the pumpkin letters in a sensory tub and use them in imaginary play. Adding letter cards in with your pretend play makes for a print-rich environment which supports children to recognise, be confident with, and read letters.
:: make a sensory writing tray and practice writing each letter with a twig pen.
