How to make a sunshine suncatcher
Begin by printing out my sun template – see below.
You can print individual templates for all of your children, or you might like to make one huge sunshine, cut from yellow card, and fill it in as a collaborative art project.
Cut out your sun template, including the circle in the centre, and place it on a piece of contact paper / sticky backed plastic.
As an alternative, you could skip the contact paper and use yellow and orange pens and pencils to colour in the centre of your sunshine.
Then use a selection of yellow and orange collage materials to fill in the centre circle of your sun.
You can use scraps of paper, card, tissue, cellophane, and light fabric.
This is a wonderful fine motor skill activity, as you use scissors and your hands to cut and tear the materials.
Place a second layer of contact paper over the other side of your sun to hold all the materials in place.
Then cut out your sun around the edges and hang it up on the wall or in the window where it will catch the light from the summer sun.

Hi I received the email and went to the library section and the sun from the summer solstice template is not here. Thanks

Hi Lisa, I’ve just double checked for you and the Sun Template is in the Nature Printables section of the Library, between the Cloud ID printables and the Forest Treasure Hunt.
