:: pencils
:: your choice of drink ingredients (see menu card for ideas)
:: glasses
:: liquidiser or hand blender
Set up a selection of ingredients that your children can use to design a smoothie. They will choose a combination from a base, some fruit, and some added extras.
You’ll find the printable menu in the Super Fun, Not Scary Halloween Unit download, which includes suggestions for bases, fruits and added extras.
Each child can design their own smoothie potion and write down their recipe on the printable recipe card.
What do they think will make a good flavour combination?
Perhaps they can all try a new ingredient that they haven’t tasted before.
Then each child can select their ingredients from the supplies, and you can use a liquidiser or hand blender to whizz up their drink.
To extend this activity you could carry out a taste test and everyone can vote for their favourite potion. You can use a graph to show the results and declare an overall winner.
