This easy Halloween lantern craft invites children to create their own designs to make a lantern.
Materials needed:
:: tracing paper
:: scissors
:: black marker pens
:: pencils or oil pastels
:: sticky tape / washi tape
:: battery-powered tealight candle
Take a rectangular piece of tracing paper and draw on your design.
You can use pencils, marker pens, or even try oil pastels.
You might like to draw:
:: pumpkin Jack-o-lantern face
:: a black cat
:: an autumnal night sky filled with bats and stars
:: a Halloween-decorated house
:: yourself in your costume, going trick-or-treating
Once you have completed your design, put a strip of tape along one short end of your paper.
Roll your paper around to create your lantern shape and hold it in place with the tape.
Add a battery-powered tealight candle in the centre of your lantern and admire how the light shines through your design.
