Materials needed:
:: white pipe cleaners
:: red pony beads
:: red card
:: glue

Curl the top of a white pipe cleaner to make a candy cane shape.
Use a rectangle of red card to make a number label. Wrap it around the base of the ‘candy cane’ and use glue to stick it in place.
Adapt your candy cane set to suit your children. You can make candy canes for the numbers one to ten, for the two times table sequence, or for addition or subtraction questions.
Set out the candy canes with a dish of red pony beads and invite your children to thread on the correct number of beads to match each label.
