Play Academy #25

Welcome to this week’s Play Academy Idea Swap – have you got an idea to share?

L's bear

I thought you might like to see what L has been up to this week. It’s usually B who leads the way with creating art in our house but this picture is of the Bear L made this week. She planned it, found the paper, scissors and glue, and then did all the cutting, sticking and drawing. She’s very pleased with her masterpiece and wanted me to show you.

Thank you to all of you who added an  idea to last week’s Carnival of Maths Play– such great ideas, to suit different ages and interests. I’ve added a link to it on the Maths Play page, so any time you need some inspiration you can find it by clicking on the maths play button over on the right hand column. I’ve left the linky open for a little while longer so please feel free to add any more maths ideas. The next Carnival is on February 25th 2011 and it’s the Carnival of Small World Play. I know from visiting all your blogs that you have fabulous ideas for snowscapes and dinosaur worlds and dolls houses (and more), so I hope you’ll come and link up your ideas.

This week’s Play Academy idea swap is an ‘anything goes’ so as long as it’s a play based idea (no competitions or ads please) please leave a link so we can see what you’ve been playing this week. Thanks for sharing an idea with us.

And if you’re a fan of children’s crafts you’ll also love the Kids Get Crafty link up each Wednesday at Red Ted Art.

Great design and creation! i love to see children building their own things and planning how to make it. My eldest does a lot of this and often has several prototypes before the final item!!
